Sweet! You got the phone call to invite you to an interview. Great work so far, let’s keep the momentum going.
While it feels awesome to know that you’ve got your name in the game for a new role, you still have to keep up with what’s going on at your current job.
Here are three tips to help you out:
1. Don’t job hunt or prepare for your interview on your current boss’s time. Do as much of the homework for the interview as you can at home.
2. You might need to take a bit of time off for any interviews. Most employers will let you take a half day, or even a couple hours leave without asking any questions. If all else fails, arrange to take your lunch break at a suitable time for your interview.
3. Be smart about what you wear. If you suddenly turn up suited and booted to a job where you normally wear jeans and a t-shirt, you might raise a few eyebrows. Either start upping your game prior to your interview or take a change of clothes to get changed into.
